It’s 5 am when the alarm goes off. You have every intention to workout, but that snooze button is such a better option.
So many of us skip workouts because our desire is born from negativity.
We are typically motivated to go to the gym because of that extra 10lbs around our middles, or we don’t like our thigh jiggle or because it’s beach season and tacos happened last night.
What if we worked out because we loved doing it and we loved ourselves?
I saw a major transformation in one of my closest friends, Tanya. She and I are both runners, lovers of Beachbody DVD’s and a good sweat. But then Tanya discovered Buti Yoga and her obsession was immediate. She even became a certified teacher.
“I felt like I found my soulmate workout right from the start,” Tanya told me.
Buti infuses yoga with tribal dance and muscle conditioning. It was started by celebrity trainer Bizzie Gold and is spreading fast across the country.
It also preaches a strong message of sisterhood, loving and supporting one another as well as ourselves.
“I went from obsessing about my body and the way it looked, to truly accepting myself the way that I am and loving my body for the first time ever”
Maybe this isn’t a fluke.
The National Institutes of Health did a study looking at middle aged women. They had the women take dance and movement classes. After 12 weeks, the women had improved agility and surprisingly a big boost in positive body image.
Training experts will tell you, to love your workout, looks for these 3 things:
- Something that gives you double the benefit. Like mind/body or stretching/strengthening
- Find someone who motivates you, like a workout buddy or teacher
- Get out of your comfort zone!
